Born into the fashion industry, Vanessa Bruno’s mother was a famous model in the 60’s and her father was the founder of famous French fashion house Cacharel as well as fashion label Emanuelle Khan. Hence it came to no surprise that Vanessa would take on the same career path as her parents. After the huge success of her line ‘Vanessa Bruno’, in 1999, Vanessa went on to launch her diffusion line – Vanessa Bruno Athe – affordable, cool, chic and easy to wear but still epitomizes the Parisian style. From the Amsterdam-based design studio ‘Magasin d’une collectionneuse’, Maison Scotch proudlypresents its Spring/Summer 2012 collection. A considered line of high quality items, designed with loveand with great focus on the small details that Maison Scotch is known for. Inspired by a careful blendof New York’s street style, Japan’s innovative design and the ‘je ne sais quoi’ sense of style ofParisiennes, every Maison Scotch piece embodies the natural female elegance represented by thedandelion logo. Creating a collection feels like an endless journey, gathering souvenirs, wonderingaround antique markets looking for vintage treasures and making notes along the way.

A splash of colour
For Spring/Summer 2012, the design team was inspired by long summer nights in the city and tropicalheat. The signature sun-faded colours are mixed with more fresh, bright and bold tones. Splashes ofcolour are sprinkled throughout the collection, on new accessories and labels to make every detail of thegarment rich and special. Like every season our fabrics are inspired from all over the world; delicatewashed silk, French lace, cotton-silk blends, sporty cotton mesh, natural linens and washed twills.

Highlights
The tropical inspiration comes to life in original Hawaiian shirts, dresses with coloured bead details andneon chinos. Great effort went into rich woven tops this season, with fine details like embroideries,ruffles and lace, enhancing the high-summer ethnic look. For the easy days, Maison Scotch hasexpanded the range of graphic tees, with colour accents in hand-drawn graphics and photo prints witha festival touch. New fits like A-line, boxy and cropped fit tees will make you look effortlessly cool.As for bottoms, Maison gives the continuing success of its chino an extra push, by designing new styleslike a chino in over-dye pique quality, a new super soft twill, a dressed skinny fit and an army chino.The pants collection features a diverse range of solid and printed styles, carpenter-like workwear andchic tailored styles inspired by young Parisiennes, alongside easy shorts for bike rides along the pier.When the sun sets and the streets get chilly, Maison offers beautiful jackets and blazers in a consideredpalette of colours, fabrics and details that can’t be missed. IRO Campaign Spring-Summer 2012

French brothers Laurent and Arik Bitton started their cool casual wear line IRO in 2004, fusing edgy street style with classic Parisian chic to create laid-back staples with a feminine feel. Thanks to their musical background, the collection is inspired by trip hop and rock influences. We retain a few words of the brothers Bitton that resumes well their philosophy : “We love fashion as it allows every women to be loved” …

Vanessa Bruno Backstage @ the show

Backstage before her show, Vanessa Bruno offered up a patchwork of references and ideas—Jane Birkin circa 1968, monster truck rallies, punk, and traditional French fabrics like vintage rose prints. On the runway, it became a literal patchwork. The designer began by piecing all sorts of sweet florals and block prints with strips of flashing silver Lurex. “Like a futuristic Laura Ashley,” she said. With a cue from Birkin, the silhouette leaned toward the sixties in straight-cut shift dresses and skirts with high hems as well as stand-away jackets. But there was also a strain of Courrèges in icy white boxy suits, not to mention those zip-front knee boots. Still, you imagine Bruno’s fans will first flock to the bohemian, rather than frosty and futuristic, side of things. Also on the hit list: the flowery anoraks with drawstring necks (a fresher take on what’s become a fashion standard) and crafty fringed handknit cardies and ponchos. By the end, Bruno ticked up the toughness. Industrial grommets were embroidered onto organza skirts for a kicky cocktail hour look, and punky scraps of what looked like Hells Angels wings and Sunday-Sunday rally fliers were worked into T-shirts, a touch of exotica in the gamine’s world. “It’s not aggressive but a cool edge,” said Bruno. The AF Vandevorst contest .

First of all , a BIG thank you to our Fans to collaborate so massively on our first contest . The question : which year did AF Vandevorst presented model X010 for the first time was a tricky one . Most of you answered 2003 . This was indeed the official launch of their seperate shoe collection ‘Fetish’ , but in the winter of 2002 they launched the X010 already . Only 5 people came up with the right answer .
Today we will launch our second contest with some fine Isabel Marant jewelry . Good luck .
